The Laerdal Honorary Award in Acute Medicine
The award was established in 1984. It is administered by the University of Oslo according to separate statutes. Professors of all medical faculties in the Nordic countries, and members of the Board of the Foundation, may propose candidates. Proposals are considered by a committee established by the University of Oslo.
Initially the award was presented every second year. From 1993 it was decided to present the award every four years. The award amount was at the same time increased from NOK 100,000 to NOK 250,000.
