Strategy 2008-2010

The goal of the Foundation is to be of maximum value relative to its mission of Helping save lives.
The Foundation will focus on practically oriented research related to:

• Particularly promising hypotheses
• The understanding of practical needs: Utstein Formula of Survival
• International collaboration, including Utstein Guidelines
• The active environment for acute medicine in Stavanger and Norway
• In addition, a minimum of USD 2 mill will be allocated to projects in developing countries

To implement this strategy the Foundation will make the following categories of grant categories:

• Project support
• Center support
• Research fellowships
  - Bjørn Lind
  - Peter Safar
  
  Matching funds: Center support and major grants to developing countries should, whenever possible,
  be leveraged by matching funds from other sources.
