Project Support
Project Support is intended for practically oriented research projects that align with the Foundation’s strategy. Applications related to improved education and/or implementation (factors 2 and 3 of the Utstein Formula for Survival) are particularly welcome.
Funding resources
Project support is granted for amounts up to USD 50,000 for expenditures expected to fall due within a period of 12-18 months from the start of the project.
Application considerations
Applicants should submit a project description of no more than four pages.
The project description should clearly explain:
- the knowledge gap being addressed.
- the proposed research questions and objectives.
- the expected contribution to evidence and practice.
- the project’s potential impact.
- relevant research and implementation partnerships.
- relevance beyond the immediate project setting, where applicable.
In addition:
- If the total project budget exceeds the requested grant, the Board will consider the likelihood that the project can be carried out with funding from additional sources.
- Institutional overhead or administration costs related to the project (up to 10%) may be covered and should be included in your budget.
- The Foundation accepts a maximum of two applications per institution or organization.
What may strengthen an application
Applications may be strengthened by:
- strong research and implementation partnerships;
- complementary funding from other sources;
- a credible pathway to improving practice, education, or implementation;
- potential relevance beyond the immediate project setting.
